Land acquisition (or resumption) has commenced for the Hunter and Central Coast REZ by EnergyCo for the purpose of High Voltage Transmission Lines. Land owners have recently received an ‘Opening Letter’ from EnergyCo which marks the start of the compulsory acquisition process.
Several landowners around Wollombi, Cedar Creek, Millfield and Gouldsville have engaged FM Legal to ensure they receive full and fair compensation for the electricity easements to be compulsory acquired by EnergyCo. FM Legal have advised EnergyCo that these land owners are now legally represented, which achieves higher compensation than a landowner trying to negotiate themselves. EnergyCo pays the land owners legal and property valuation costs on top of their compensation package.
An explanation of what is an easement is below.
FM Legal brings extensive experience on electricity easement negotiations within the Dubbo – Orana REZ, which is more progressed than the Hunter Central Coast REZ. Our experience in Dubbo-Orana highlights that substantial compensation can be achieved for both a construction easement and a permanent easement than the initial offer from EnergyCo. Some landowners have received notifications that the whole of their properties will be acquired whilst other landowners have been notified easements are to be compulsory acquired.
Now FM Legal has several land owner clients being affected by Hunter-Central Coast REZ compulsory acquisition; we can share information (with your permission) on what rates per hectare EnergyCo are offering other land owners on a confidential basis to ensure you receive full compensation.
