EnergyCo has now commenced the land acquisition (or resumption) for both full land acquisitions and electricity easements within the Hunter- Central Coast REZ for their Hunter Transmission Project otherwise know as HTP. The Hunter Transmission Project is located within the Hunter-Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) and will house the high voltage transmission lines to bring power from the north of NSW to Sydney. Land owners have recently received an ‘Opening Letter’ from EnergyCo which marks the start of the compulsory acquisition process.

Some land owners have received notifications that the whole of their properties will be acquired
whilst other landowners have been notified easements are to be compulsory acquired.

Land owners around Wollombi, Cedar Creek, Millfield and Gouldsville have engaged FM Legal to ensure they receive full and fair compensation for the electricity easements. By having legal representation of a firm experienced in compulsory acquisition, a landowner will achieve higher compensation than a land owner trying to negotiate themselves. EnergyCo is required to pay the land owners’ legal and property valuation costs on top of their compensation package, so it makes sense to obtain proper advice and representation rather than undertake the task alone.
